Dogfight Over Dover : Battle of Britain

Quite a few of the men from my hometown fought in World War 1 and 2, my great grandfather among them.  I started this painting on Armistice Day as a way to remember all those who fought for our freedom. In this painting a British RAF Spitfire and Messerschmitt 109 in the foreground! They battled over the white cliffs of Dover during the Battle of Britain in the 2nd world war. (10 July – Oct 1940). In the background on the right is a Junker Ju 88 bomber which was taken out by the Hawker Hurricane which is currently trying to take out another 109 .
Lest we forget! 36×36 acrylic
